How in the world can the property tax assessor justify a 60% increase (this year) when the costs of real estate has dropped 3.9% (also this year)? Then when you try to call, their number is ALWAYS busy!
You can bet my salary has not gone up 60% this year!
This is seriously a bunch a crap!
If the phone number provided is going to be constantly busy then they need to give a much large window of time to dispute. Ridiculous!! Properties are sitting unsold with selling prices that are a fraction of the re-appraised value.
Maybe your office should learn to operate a little more efficiently. Like -for instance- not spending $0.44 cents to send me a bill for $0.20 cents. Not to mention the cost of the salary paid to the clerk that connected me to my deceased parents, whose bill it would have ACTUALLY been, had we not sold their house. PLUS, due to the sale, we ALREADY PAID IT! Yeah, that actually happened to me! So I sent Anderson County back a check for $0.19 cents just to illustrate how stupid it was. What I would really like to know is: Is this 60% increase some sort of retribution?
